2004 Syrah, San Luis Obispo
County, "Alamo Creek Vineyards"
($44.00) 87 Points
I like the ripeness of the fruit,
and the way the blackberry cola, coffee and spice flavors play against
an edge of leathery, funky grilled beef. The tannins are powerful,
so decant and drink it with rich, fatty meats and cheeses. - S.H.

"Three Cane Blend", San Luis Obispo
County
($46.00) 87 Points
Cabernet
Sauvignon, Merlot and Cab Franc comprise the blend. The wine is
dry and very forward in fruit, with black cherry, raspberry, and smoky,
oaky vanilla flavors. It's delicious and a little one-dimensional,
so drink now. - S.H. 9/1/2007

2004
Syrah, San
Luis Obispo County, "Alamo Creek Vineyards" ($44.00)

Purple
garnet in color, this offering exhibits rich blueberry and blackberry
scents followed by a lush richly textured palate of concentrated
black fruit, pepper, rounded tannins and grip on the
finish. A lovely wine.

2006 - San Luis Obispo Tribune: Local Wine Picks
2003
Three Cane Blend ($42.00) A lovely wine with ripe cherry, a note of
anise, firm structure and a long finish.
2003
Red Fusion ($46.00) That's roughly one-third Rutherford Cabernet,
one-third Paso Syrah and one-third Paso Zinfandel. It offers lots
of fruit wrapped up in a supple texture.
